It is not a secret that sometimes companies hand out phones ahead of their launch, so reviewers can complete their tests in time for the unveiling. However, the Thai website Tech Hangout jumped the gun and posted its full review of the Realme X3 SuperZoom a whole week ahead of the May 25 event.

The article, now taken down and available cached through Google, reveals the phone will have a periscope camera and a Snapdragon 855+ chipset.

The SoC will be paired with 12GB RAM and 256 GB UFS 3.0 storage. The screen 6.6” LCD has a 120Hz refresh rate and Full HD+ resolution, but since it is LCD, the fingerprint scanner is on the side, doubling as a power key.

The camera setup of the Realme X3 SuperZoom brings four shooters – a 64MP main one with Samsung’s ISOCELL Bright GW1 sensor and an 8MP f/2.3 ultrawide cam with 119-degree FoV. The key selling point of the Realme X3 SuperZoom is its 8 MP periscope lens with 5x optical zoom and OIS, with an f/3.4 aperture in front. The fourth cam is a basic macro lens for close-ups up to 4cm.

The guys at Tech Hangout did some benchmarks, and the AnTuTu score is quite impressive. The Realme X3 SuperZoom might have a Snapdragon 855+ chipset like the Realme X2 Pro, but now the review unit reached 498,636, which is about 10% more than what the X2 Pro accomplished in our review last year, with the faster storage likely the main reason for it.

Other specs of the X3 SuperZoom include a 4,200mAh battery with 30W fast charging, a 32MP selfie camera, coupled with a secondary ultrawide snapper, and up to 60x hybrid zoom. Sadly, neither a microSD slot nor a 3.5mm audio jack can be seen on this phone, which might be a setback for a certain users. At least there are stereo speakers and the phone will ship with Android 10 and Realme UI out of the box.

What is left for Realme is to unveil the price and availability of the phone, which will happen next week during a massive launch, where we also expect to see a Realme TV, a Realme Watch, and a Realme X50 Pro Player smartphone.
