Back in December 2015, vivo unveiled the Y51 with Snapdragon 410 SoC, 5″ display, 8MP primary camera, and a 2,350 mAh battery. Today, vivo announced the new Y51, which is powered by the Snapdragon 665 SoC, runs Android 10-based Funtouch OS 10 and has 4GB RAM and 128GB expandable storage onboard.

The new vivo Y51 is built around a 6.38″ FullHD+ Ace AMOLED display that has a fingerprint reader underneath and a notch up top for the 16MP selfie camera.

Around the back, you have a diamond-shaped plate housing four cameras – 48MP primary, 8MP ultrawide, 2MP macro, and 2MP depth sensor. These are joined by an LED flash, and further below is a text that reads “Camera & Music”.

Fueling the entire package is a 4,500 mAh battery that draws power through a USB-C port at up to 18W.

All this might sound familiar to you because the new vivo Y51 isn’t an entirely new smartphone. It’s a rebranded X50 Lite announced a few months ago, or you can also call it a rebadged S1 Pro with a 16MP selfie camera since the colorways of both smartphones are identical.
