Microsoft is set to reveal more about the first-party Xbox Series X games being developed by Xbox Games Studios later this month.
July is turning out to be an important month for Microsoft and Xbox. We’re already expecting over 60 new game demos to be available to play for Xbox One on July 21. Now, there’s an Xbox Games Showcase happening on July 23 (9am PT/ 12pm ET) as confirmed by the Xbox Twitter account. The focus of the Showcase, as reported by The Verge, is Xbox Games Studios titles for the Xbox Series X.
The games we can expect to see on July 23 include the obvious inclusions: Halo Infinite, plus new footage from Forza and Gears of War titles. Other games we could see include Ninja Theory’s Hellblade 2, Rare’s Everwild, and Psychonauts 2. Microsoft hopefully has a few big surprises up its sleeve, too, as it needs to generate some fresh excitement following the successful reveal of the PlayStation 5 and its games last month.
It seems so long ago now, but Microsoft released trailers for 13 games coming to Xbox Series X back in May. They included Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Bright Memory Infinite, Call of the Sea, Chorus, DiRT 5, Madden NFL 21, Scarlet Nexus, Scorn, Second Extinction, The Ascent, The Medium, Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, and Yakuza: Like a Dragon. Now it needs to round out the offering with a solid line-up of first-party games and hopefully console launch day releases, which have previously seemed unlikely to happen.
